Cartier Just Gave the Baignoire Its Most Textured Makeover Yet

Cartier is pushing the Baignoire further into jewelry-watch territory with a new Clous de Paris treatment that covers the oval design in geometric, pyramid-like texture.

What is new

Rather than using Clous de Paris as a small decorative accent, Cartier carries the pattern across the bangle, case and dial. The 24.6 × 19.3 mm yellow-gold watch is intentionally minimal in every other respect, using two simple hands instead of the Roman-numeral dial most shoppers immediately associate with Cartier.

Two versions

One model keeps the textured yellow gold uninterrupted. A second adds 271 diamonds: 100 brilliant-cut stones on the dial and 171 reverse-set diamonds across the case and bracelet. Both use quartz movements and are rated to 3 bar of water resistance.

Why shoppers should care

The Baignoire has become one of Cartier’s strongest fashion-watch shapes because it can behave more like jewelry than a conventional timepiece. This update doubles down on that point. Anyone shopping mainly for classic Cartier dial codes should still look at a traditional Baignoire; anyone shopping for an evening jewelry watch has a more distinctive option here.

Release timing

The new versions are expected in Cartier boutiques beginning November 2026.
