The French house gives Reebok’s aerobics-era icon a luxury reset, with lambskin construction, eight colorways and a September 10 launch.

Celine and Reebok are taking one of the most recognizable fitness shoes of the early 1980s and stripping it back for a luxury wardrobe. The Freestyle Lo, first introduced by Reebok in 1982, returns through Celine in eight colors including optic white, black, butter, beige, peanut, dark brown, oxblood and fluo red.

The appeal is in the restraint. Celine keeps the low-profile Freestyle shape but recasts it through the house’s cleaner visual language and softer materials. It is the kind of collaboration that works because the source shoe was already fashion-adjacent rather than because two logos were forced onto a new silhouette.
Oxblood is the smartest fall buy if you want the shoe to read as fashion rather than gym nostalgia. Peanut and dark brown are easier neutrals; optic white is the safest long-term choice. Fluo red is the campaign statement, but it is also the least versatile.
The collection launches September 10 through Celine, with a limited ALLDAYEVERYDAY edition tied to the Wooster Street and Omotesando stores. That gives the broader Freestyle Lo a real release story without making the standard colors feel impossible to buy.
Worth watching early. This is a genuine heritage-meets-luxury product rather than a logo exercise, and the eight-color rollout gives shoppers an actual decision to make.
